Rabbi Marreh-Obaretin builds systems that carry people through it.
Rabbi’s work began in care, one of the most human spaces there is. As a registered nurse, she chose a path that demands presence, the kind of presence that cannot be delegated and meets people at their most vulnerable.
Then came 2019. While many were still planning, Rabbi launched her health and social care business, a bold move at any time and an even bolder one just before the world changed.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the system stretched, care homes struggled, staffing became critical and pressure rose across the sector. This is where Rabbi’s story shifts.
She stepped in, by leading the rapid recruitment and deployment of a large workforce across Aberdeen City and Shire. She helped sustain care homes at a time when stability was fragile.
At the height of the crisis, she also stepped into a deputy manager role within a struggling organisation, working with her team to restore structure, improve care standards, and prevent closure.
As the world slowly stabilised, Rabbi continued to build. In 2023, she expanded her services into domiciliary care, ensuring people could receive quality support in their own homes.
She became an SQA assessor, helping healthcare professionals gain qualifications, and began designing clinical training programmes to strengthen competence across both NHS and private settings.
Today, she leads a workforce of over 50 professionals. Rabbi’s vision however, extends far beyond healthcare. She understands something many people experience but few address which is the fact that access to leadership is not evenly distributed. So she decided to do something about it and created The Black Women Boardroom.
Through The Black Women Boardroom, Rabbi has built a global platform designed to advance Black women through mentorship, networking, and leadership development. It is a space where ambition is nurtured, where conversations are honest, and where women are supported to step into rooms they were not always invited into .
Her work moves across industries, from healthcare to education to entrepreneurship. She delivers university workshops, convenes global forums, and continues to advocate for representation, equity, and opportunity.
At the centre of everything Rabbi does, is a clear belief that leadership should not be exclusive, opportunities should not be limited and potential should not go unseen.
Rabbi Marreh-Obaretin is building capacity, confidence and more importantly, pathways for others to rise. In every space she enters, whether it is a care home, a classroom, or a boardroom, Rabbi carries the same intention. To leave it stronger than she found it.
