"They call him Ikeoranyelu"
The one who strengthens the community.
For Edward Obi, leadership is more of service than titles. Edward believes in showing up, be it in boardrooms, in community halls, even on the streets of Aberdeen, to make sure people are supported, seen, and set up to thrive.
Edward is the Director of HR Hub Plus Limited and Peridot Recruit, two businesses built with people at the heart. Through them, he has helped organisations navigate complex HR challenges and supported workers facing sudden upheaval. At moments when livelihoods felt uncertain, Edward’s companies became bridges, connecting people back to opportunity.
But his story isn’t confined to business. It’s equally about belonging. As the Founder of Diversity Bridge SCIO, Edward has created platforms that champion equity, inclusion, and dialogue across Scotland. And as the Leader of the Igbo Cultural Association SCIO in Aberdeen, he carries a cultural responsibility that is both personal and profound. Members affectionately call him Ikeoranyelu, a name that captures the strength he lends to his people, the roots he keeps alive, and the traditions he passes forward.
Balancing entrepreneurship with cultural leadership hasn’t always been easy. Between running businesses, guiding community organisations, and raising a family, Edward’s days are full. But those who know him see the pattern showing a life consistently built on the same foundation, which is, people first.
In Edward’s world, business is not separate from community. Culture is not separate from innovation. And leadership is not measured in how high you climb, but in how many you lift as you rise.
Edward Obi is more than an entrepreneur. He is a bridge between work and home, tradition and innovation, business and community. And through every role he carries, his mission remains the same- to strengthen the people around him.
