His middle name, Mutokozisi, means “one who brings joy.”
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and proudly Ndebele and Shona, Arnold carries a name that feels like a promise and from the start, he’s lived by it.
He grew up in Hounslow West, London, where his love for words took root early. As a child, he won a writing contest and was invited to Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s birthday party in 2005. This moment hinted at a future shaped by discipline, creativity, and grace.
When his family moved to Falkirk during his high school years, Arnold thrived as he was adapting to new surroundings and Scotland became home. Arnold picked up passions including American football, where he thrived with Clyde Valley Falcons, earning Defensive Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year honours and eventually getting a call up to Team Great Britain Junior American Football. At the University of Stirling, he pursued a Law degree while leading both on and off the field. As captain and president of the university’s American football team, he led them to four straight national championships and won three of them. To Arnold, leadership wasn’t just something to be practiced, it was something to be embodied.
Arnold recently joined one of Scotland’s leading law firms, where he now works in the Banking and Finance team as a trainee solicitor. His dedication, drive, and integrity have already earned him the title of Professional Rising Star of the Year at The Black Scottish Awards, 2025.
But behind the suits, the strategy, and the structured arguments is a man deeply passionate about inclusion, diversity, and belonging. Arnold has led and supported initiatives that ensure workplaces hire diversely and also create environments where people can truly belong.
Outside work, he’s a traveller and food lover, and has visited 42 countries. Each one of these countries has expanded his understanding of culture, cuisine, and human connection. From bustling cities to quiet corners of the world, Arnold has gathered stories, flavours, and friendships that have shaped his perspective.
Through it all, he remains grounded by the same values, resilience, joy, and community that guided him from Harare to Hounslow to Falkirk.
Arnold Masayila is rising in the legal world and bringing light while at it, thus living up to his name every step of the way.
