"Not just building a robot”
But also building a future where beauty meets culture, and innovation feels personal.
As the founder and CEO of Janki Robotics, Aisha is behind the world's first AI-powered hennabot, a deep tech device helping salon owners boost revenue while offering fast, plant-based, temporary tattoos inspired by age-old henna art.
But Aisha's story didn't start in a lab. It began in Nigeria, where she honed her craft as a henna artist. At 16, she moved to the UK on a full Mastercard Foundation scholarship to study Architecture at the University of Edinburgh. It was here that design met automation, and a quiet passion began to evolve into a bold vision.
Today, Aisha is blending her lived experience, design skills, and cultural heritage to reimagine self-care through robotics. Backed by Innovate UK, Barclays Eagle Labs, and the National Robotarium, Janki Robotics is currently developing its first prototype that makes beauty services more inclusive, more efficient, and more rooted in care.
Outside the lab, Aisha is a digital content creator with a growing audience of over 200,000 across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. She shares openly, teaches generously, and inspires others, especially women, to see tech not as a closed door, but a canvas to tell their stories.
From henna to hardware, from tradition to technology, Aisha is painting a new kind of future, one that is beautiful, bold, and unmistakably hers.
